With a Masters degree in Fine Art from Silpakorn University (2021) under her belt, Lingee Bangkhunted is an emerging artist in Thailand’s contemporary art scene.
Her interest ranges from painting expressive whimsical animals in dapper vintage clothing to her signature steampunk marine animals. Her marine animal series of whales, sharks and tropical fish feature different metal shields, gears, levers, nuts and bolts, pipes, and a meter clock with distinctive eyes. A common find throughout her paintings and series are mechanical devices/instruments with numbers such as a pocket watch or meter gauges.
The artist portrays details of meter gauges and watches imagery within most of her paintings which could be read as the measure of time or pressure where the turning of both is seen as constant, moving and mechanical, which maybe even serves as a reminder to her viewers.
The subjects under Lingee Bangkhunted’s brushes carry dreams and inspire the courage to move ahead towards unknown adventures.
