Born in Rome, she attended the Liceo Artistico Statale specializing in painting. In 1993 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome with a diploma in stage design.
She studied ballet at a private conservatory in Rome and received her diploma in 1990. She then specialized in contemporary dance, movement theater and yoga and attended courses in Rome, Vienna, London, Paris and Salzburg. She has been studying and playing the violin since 1987.
After moving to Vienna in 1995, she worked for various dance companies performing in Italy, Austria, Germany, Great Britain (London), USA (New York) and Egypt (International Festival for Experimental Theater, Cairo).
The performing arts have always influenced Lucia Riccelli's artistic development. She directs her own performances in which painting, dance, video film, live music, installation art and live painting are continuously explored and reflected in her artistic work.
She teaches painting, drawing and modern dance.
