About Marie Ange Daudé

Marie Ange Daudé, visual artist, born in 1964 in Limoges, was a triathlete in her youth in the Gironde. After studying architecture and urban planning, Marie Ange worked in real estate for twenty years to 'make the world more beautiful'.

She remains close to many architect-artist colleagues and is interested in the "creation process". Marie Ange started using ecological fibers in 2008 and now works with an inexhaustible supply of natural or recycled materials. She uses springs suspended between tensioned nylon threads. The light plays with the relief of the materials and gives depth to the almost magical characters. The figures are often melancholic and express the longing for an era. The faces are strong and express a rare emotion. The chosen material, feathers, enhances the emotions, especially the fragility and feminine softness. The sense of transparency of the portrait and its fleeting side is accentuated by the material: the feathers are fixed on almost invisible nylon threads, making the portrait seem to float.

The absence of color enhances the emotion and nostalgia. The relief and down of the feathers give the whole a touch of softness and fragility. Her tonal portraits, broken, reassembled, fragile, reconstructed from scratch, are a representation of the longing for times gone by, nostalgia and the emotions that bring two beings together.
